Who am I kidding....the fairgrounds is a pokemonGo wonderland! People dropping lures every night at the DNR, poke stops every ten feet, and you can take a "poke~walk" and hatch eggs all night!
Sometimes I simply dropped my own lure at the closest poke stop, and let the Pokemon come to me as I watched some of the great (and not so great) talent perform. As we listened to a few particularly difficult performances, Dad said "those people who think that every act that tries out, gets in....are mistaken". You gotta give them props for trying.
Most nights I'd get Mom and/or Cindy to "poke walk" with me!
Mom of course was looking at the beautiful scenery, as I tried not to get hit by cars, and walk off curbs and into benches.

The new sponsor for the Talent Show is Jack's Pizza, so the corny announcer makes pizza references ALL night! There is a little "Snack Shack," run by a very nice lady, named Tammy, who kept us supplied with ice cream, and sodas and had State Fair buttons
and free Jacks Pizza Cutters!
(My first free thing and the fair hasn't even started!). But I told her she needed a little pizza oven and sell Jacks Pizza!

Tonight, since the "Shack" had no pizza, I bought a coke and told her of my delivery plans.
I called the local Pizza Hut and ordered for delivery to the Libby Conference Center (next to Bandshell). After 20 minutes past the estimated delivery time, I started making calls. I was assured the driver was en route, ETA about two minutes. I got another call from dispatch confirming the drivers ETA. ....Ten minutes later, the driver calls and is looking for 1311 Case, not 1311 Cosgrove. I told the kid I was right inside the Snelling Gate at the fairgrounds and he told me they don't deliver into the fairgrounds. I thought it was sort of crazy, being three blocks away and not in the delivery zone, but this kid tells me I called the White Bear Ave Pizza Hut. After some back and forth conversation, he informed me that all calls now get routed to a call center in TEXAS! The call center sent my order across town. I had to call the call center again to ask for a refund. I called the local number for the Larpenteur Pizza Hut and asked the guy who answered the phone if he was in Texas. Why yes, he was. I told him I wanted a refund, (which he told me will take a week) and i said "I know these calls are recorded, so please send this on to a manager and tell them it is misleading to call a local number and end up routed to someone in Texas, and that this will be the last time I attempt to order a pizza from them". I feel badly for the poor pizza delivery guy who drive around for an hour trying to deliver my pizza. The company will take the pizza loss, but that poor kid, he lost gas $, tips and wasted time he could have been delivering more pizza.
I walked back to the "Snack Shack", head drooping sadly and told the nice lady that there would be no pizza, and I purchased some Cheetos and M&M's...
Feeling sorry for me, she graciously gave me a coupon (reserved for talent participants!) for a free Jack's Pizza!
Yay! ~for State Fair goodwill and Boo! ~ to Pizza Hut.

There are more try outs all weekend, so I might return...but I will eat first.
We are back today, Mom & Dad got lunch at Nelson's Cheese shop! You'd think they are not speaking....but a few minutes ago, one bench was in the hot sun! Lol
